Four space pirate birds hunt gems across an expanding 6×6 to 8×8 metallic station. Cascading symbols, Alien Invasion duels, and 10,000× max win await.
Pirots 4 combines Wild West outlaws with deep space mechanics. ELK Studios built a slot where four colour-coded collector birds navigate a space station, triggering corner bombs, dueling a Space Bandit, and upgrading gems through seven value levels.
Each bird wears a space suit and collects gems matching their colour. All four birds collect feature symbols regardless of colour. Birds move horizontally or vertically to adjacent symbols, creating chain reactions across the metallic station grid. The prequel Pirots 3 introduced the moving bird collector system in a Wild West setting with bandits and dynamite instead of space suits.
Collects red gems up to Level 7: 30.00×
Collects purple gems up to Level 7: 15.00×
Collects green gems up to Level 7: 10.00×
Collects blue gems up to Level 7: 7.50×
Pirots 4 packs ten distinct feature symbols that birds collect during cascades. Each feature alters the game state dramatically, from upgrading gem values to initiating space duels with the Alien Invader.
Increases gems of the collecting bird's colour by 1, 2, or 3 levels. Maximum level: 7.
Simultaneously upgrades all four gem colours by 1-3 levels across the entire grid.
Substitutes for gems at current payout level. Birds cannot finish collection on wilds.
Instant multipliers: 5×, 10×, 100×, 500×, 4000×. MAX WIN coin pays remainder to limit.
Three symbols activate 5 free spins. Each additional bonus during free spins adds +1 spin.
Activates if one of three bonuses is super. Game on maximum 8×8 grid, all upgrades affect all gems.
Converts cluster of neighbouring gems to collecting bird's colour. May transform stones into features.
Places Spacecorn in empty spaces, allowing birds to cross voids. Activates Lost in Space if all symbols collected.
Swallows every symbol and bird on the board, then scatters them back at random. It might even keep 1-3 birds for itself, removing them for the rest of the round.
Space Bandit collects symbols by column. Battles birds in space duels. Winner takes multiplied values.
Pirots 4 starts on a 6×6 metallic grid. Four corner bombs surround the play area, each assigned a random bird colour at round start. When a bird collects a symbol at a bomb's position, the bomb activates after birds finish collecting.
Bomb detonation removes all gems in a 3×3 area, destroys the connected space station section, and expands the grid toward maximum 8×8 size. Once the grid reaches 8×8, space portals appear in corners, allowing birds to teleport between portals when collectible symbols exist at two or more portal positions.
The space station surrounds the main grid in four sections. Each section can hold up to two feature symbols. When a corner bomb removes a section, it becomes a tunnel. Birds pass through tunnels when collectible symbols appear at both entrance and exit, collecting any feature symbols inside during transit.
The Alien Invasion symbol summons the Space Bandit, who collects symbols column by column in random order. The Space Bandit ignores Black Hole, Spacecorn, and Transform symbols, discarding them. Values accumulate on the spaceship with increasing multipliers. The Pirots 2 prehistoric slot features a meteor strike mechanic that similarly clears symbols, though birds follow payout order rather than collecting column by column.
When the Space Bandit encounters a bird, a space duel initiates:
Lost in Space kicks in when your birds clear every symbol on the field during the Spacecorn feature (it won't trigger if all symbols are collected without Spacecorn in play). The grid then expands to 8×8, with a bird perched in each corner. You start with 3 drops, and every coin or bridge that lands resets the counter back to 3 drops.
Birds collect only horizontally or vertically adjacent coins. They can use bridges to reach distant coins. If multiple birds link via the same coins, their values sum. After all drops complete, total collected value pays out.
When three or more birds become horizontally or vertically adjacent (excluding Lost in Space), they collide at one position. The Power Clash removes gems in a 5×5 area and scatters birds horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Birds auto-collect corner bombs, Alien Invasion symbols, Black Hole, coins, and bonuses along their path. Stones removed during Power Clash scatter do not count toward the collection counter.
Every one of the four gem colours climbs through seven upgrade levels, with multiplier values growing at each step. Land Upgrade or Upgrade All symbols to boost gem levels by 1, 2, or 3 steps, all the way up to the Level 7 maximum. Your progress sticks around too, since gem upgrade levels persist throughout the session and carry straight into bonus games.
Level 7 maximum values:
Pirots 4 includes ELK Studios' X-iter system with five buy-in options. Each mode guarantees specific features or increased activation chances. All X-iter modes maintain 94% RTP.

Guaranteed regular bonus game entry with 5 free spins.
Direct entry to Lost in Space game on 8×8 grid with coin collection.
One spin with guaranteed Alien Invasion. Super bonus guaranteed if bonus activates.
One spin with 4× increased bonus activation chance.
Pirots 4 delivers mechanical depth rarely seen in cascade slots. The four collector birds create a physics-based puzzle where positioning matters. Corner bomb timing, space station tunnel usage, and bird collision mechanics (Power Clash) add strategic layers beyond standard slot randomness.
The Alien Invasion feature introduces asymmetric gameplay. Instead of passive free spins, you watch the Space Bandit battle your birds in space duels. Each duel outcome dramatically alters the round: bird victories end the feature with immediate multiplied payouts, while Space Bandit victories remove birds and boost multipliers for subsequent collections. This risk-reward dynamic makes Alien Invasion the slot's most volatile feature.
Lost in Space represents ELK Studios' most ambitious bonus variant in Pirots 4. The 8×8 grid with four corner-positioned birds creates a pure collection challenge. Bridges connecting distant coins and the three-drop reset mechanic add planning elements. Unlike traditional free spins that play automatically, Lost in Space requires birds to form efficient collection paths. The original Pirots offered a simpler 5×5 to 8×8 expanding grid with bomb mechanics but lacked the three-drop reset and bridge systems introduced here.
Gem upgrades form Pirots 4's economic backbone. Red gems at Level 7 pay 30.00× stake, making red bird collections with maxed gems the highest base value outcome. Purple, green, and blue gems offer scaled values (15×, 10×, 7.5× respectively at Level 7).
Upgrade All symbols become critical in Super Bonus mode, where they affect all gem types simultaneously. This turns Super Bonus rounds into gem upgrade races: players aim to max all colours early, then collect aggressively. The 94% RTP includes gem upgrade progression, meaning typical sessions involve gradual gem leveling rather than immediate Level 7 jumps.
Starting on 6×6 and expanding to 8×8 changes game dynamics significantly. Larger grids host more symbols per cascade, increasing collection potential but also spreading birds across greater distances. Corner bombs control expansion timing. Strategic players note which bomb colours match remaining birds to predict detonation likelihood.
At maximum 8×8 size, space portals activate, enabling bird teleportation. Portals require collectible symbols at two or more corner positions to function. This creates scenarios where birds teleport across the grid mid-collection, chaining disparate symbol clusters into single massive payouts.
At 94%, Pirots 4's RTP falls short of the 96%+ industry average, a clear sign of ELK Studios' high-volatility approach. With a 10,000× max win, Alien Invasion duels, and the Lost in Space bonus in play, expect wins to land less often than on moderate-volatility slots. Be ready for plenty of dead spins between feature triggers.
X-iter mode pricing reflects feature value: Super Bonus at £500 (2500× base stake) prices the maximum grid and universal upgrades accurately. Bonus Hunt at £3 (15× base stake) offers recreational players affordable feature hunting. All X-iter modes maintain 94% RTP, meaning long-term expected returns remain constant regardless of buy-in choice.
For £0.20 minimum stake players, expect extended base game sessions with infrequent feature triggers. The collection counter above the grid tracks progress toward pending feature symbol releases; filled counters guarantee feature symbols will populate the grid on next cascade, often leading to bonus activation chains.
Maximum £100 stakes suit high-volatility tolerance with substantial bankrolls. At max stake, single Lost in Space games or successful Alien Invasion rounds with high Space Bandit multipliers can approach the 10,000× win limit. Win limit mechanics end rounds early upon reaching £1,000,000 total win (10,000× max stake). The same 10,000× ceiling applies in the CollectR™ edition with expanding 6×6 grid, where Fire Minions and Inferno coin rounds can trigger max-win termination at identical thresholds.
